Frequently Asked Questions
Is this test is right for me?
We offer three tests.
The Classic Hormone Test covers reproductive hormones and their metabolites. This makes it a great test for a quick hormone check in or for ongoing monitoring of your HRT dose.
The Advanced Hormone Test is our most popular. It includes everything in the Classic, plus stress hormones, nutrient markers, neurotransmitters, gut health and inflammation. This makes it the strongest starting point for fatigue, PCOS/PMOS, perimenopause, menopause, weight issues, hair loss or irregular/missing periods. This is also a great test for those on hormonal contraception, including the hormonal IUD.
The Advanced+ with Cycle Mapping includes everything in the Advanced test, plus daily oestrogen and progesterone tracking across your full menstrual cycle. We recommend this for clients with PMDD (where you want to understand the hormonal fluctuations) and fertility (where you want to see how long you’re making progesterone for).
What's included in my test kit?
All kits include detailed instructions and a pre-paid mailer bag for returning your samples.
Classic Hormone Test: 4 dried urine strips for collection across a 24-hour period.
Advanced Hormone Test: 4 dried urine strips + 5 saliva collection tubes (+1 optional overnight sample).
Advanced+ Hormone Test with Cycle Mapping: everything in the Advanced Hormone Test + extra dried urine strips for the daily cycle mapping.
What markers do you test?
All three tests measure reproductive hormones: progesterone and its metabolites, oestrogen (E1, E2, E3) and its phase 1 and phase 2 metabolites, and androgens including testosterone, DHEA-S and their metabolites. The Advanced and Advanced+ tests additionally measure daily free cortisol and cortisone (your stress hormones), melatonin, and nutritional organic acids including vitamins B6 and B12, glutathione, biotin, neurotransmitter metabolites, gut health markers and oxidative stress. The Advanced+ test also measures oestrogen and progesterone across your entire menstrual cycle, providing a full cycle map rather than just a single-day snapshot.
How does at-home collection work?
For the Classic and Advanced tests, you collect four dried urine samples on paper strips over a 24-hour period.
The Advanced test also includes five saliva samples collected across the same day to measure your stress hormones, with one additional saliva sample available as an option for overnight waking.
For the Advanced+ with Cycle Mapping, you collect dried urine samples daily across your full menstrual cycle (starting on day 7), plus an extra 4 dried urine and 5 saliva samples on Day 3 or 4 of your next cycle.
Simply leave your urine samples to dry for 24 hours and store them somewhere safe. Saliva tubes must be frozen immediately until your courier collection
When should I take the test?
For the Classic and Advanced tests, we aim to collect your samples in the mid-luteal phase around 5-7 days after ovulation, when progesterone is at its peak. For a 28 day cycle, this means a testing window from day 19-21. We provide plenty of support to help you identify your best testing day, including for those with irregular or missing periods.
For the Advanced+ with Cycle Mapping, collection begins on day 7 of your cycle and continues across the full month.
How long does it take to get my results?
Sample analysis at our partner lab takes 2 weeks for the Classic and Advanced Hormone Test and 3 weeks for the Advanced+ with Cycle Mapping. Our nutritionists then take a further 7 business days to prepare your personalised report and health plan. You will be notified by email when your report is ready.
What's included in my report?
Your report includes your full results, expert interpretation of what they mean for your symptoms, and a 12-week personalised health plan with specific supplement, diet and lifestyle recommendations tailored to you. You can download a sample report above to see what to expect before you buy.
Who prepares my report?
One of our expert nutritionists reviews your results alongside your onboarding questionnaire, covering your symptoms, diet and daily habits, before writing your interpretation and plan. Every report is prepared individually. Nothing is automated.
How often should I test?
We recommend retesting every 12 months. If you are on HRT, we suggest every 6 months to monitor your dose and confirm you are metabolising oestrogen safely.

The Advanced+ Hormone Test with Cycle Mapping provides you with a full picture of your monthly menstrual cycle by assessing your reproductive hormones oestrogen and progesterone over the period of a full month.
This is our most comprehensive test, as it also assesses your reproductive and adrenal or stress hormones, along with their metabolites in order to gain a full picture of your hormone health. It even includes an assessment of your daily free cortisol, melatonin, inflammation, gut health and organic acids such as B6 and B12 which are vital for healthy hormone function.
This comprehensive hormone test captures a full day of hormone production via four or five dried urine and saliva samples over a 24-hour period.
The Advanced+ Hormone Test with Cycle Mapping can be done entirely from home and comes with an online report, complete with your results and personalised health plan.

What we test in the Advanced+ Hormone Test with Cycle Mapping
Our FUTURE WOMAN hormone tests are the most accurate and comprehensive hormone tests on the market, because they provide insights into not only your hormone production and hormone balance, but also your hormone metabolism and other contributing factors such as stress, inflammation, nutrient deficiencies and even gut health.
So often when we’re symptomatic, it can be because of poor hormone metabolism, stress or other factors rather than simply having too much or too little of a particular hormone.
