Nutella is delicious but it contains many less than desirable ingredients, including sugar (the main ingredient!) and palm oil. And making your own ‘healthy’ version with hazelnuts and cacao, while definitely possible, is hard work!
So try this healthy chocolate spread instead, it comes together in seconds and is made with a base of creamy tahini. Tahini boasts an impressive 17g of protein per 100g to keep blood sugar stable, is full of healthy fats to support hormone production and is a great source of antioxidants.
Ingredients
- 6 tbsp of tahini
- 2 tsp of raw, organic honey
- 1/2 tsp of sea salt (or more to taste)
- 4 tsp of cacao powder
- 2-3 tbsp of hot water (depending on what consistency you like)
Method
- Simply combine all ingredients together with a spoon, and add the hot water until you reach your desired consistency.Â
- Store in an airtight jar in the fridge.
