This high protein smoothie bowl contains cruciferous vegetables and flaxseed which support healthy estrogen detoxification. Cruciferous vegetables contain a compound called Indole-3-carbinol, which is known to stimulate detoxifying enzymes in the gut and liver.Â
We always encourage clients to ‘eat’ a smoothie by serving in a bowl with some crunchy toppings. This helps to improve digestion.
Ingredients
- Base: 250ml (1 cup) of nut milk (for example our cashew nut milk)
- Protein: 1 scoop of sugar-free vanilla protein powder (we like Sun Warrior which is sweetened with stevia and contains sprouted sources of protein)
- Fruit:Â 1 handful of organic blueberries (frozen or fresh)
- Veg: A few florets of steamed cauliflower or chopped broccoli or kale stalks
- Fat: 1 tablespoon freshly ground flaxseeds and 1 tablespoon of roasted nut butter
- Toppings: Sprinkle of pumpkin and sunflower seeds
Method
- Pour the almond milk into your blender then add the rest of the ingredients except the seeds.Â
- Whiz until smooth then pour into a bowl.Â
- Top will the seeds, then serve!
